Job Title: Victim Witness Specialist - District Court
Victim Witness has an opening for a Victim/Witness Specialist in the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. Performs semi-complex telephone and in-person contact work with felony crime victims and witnesses, in order to educate them about their rights during the criminal justice process. Supports Deputy District Attorneys in the preparation, organization and prosecution of criminal cases through a variety of responsibilities. Bachelor’s degree in victim assistance, human services, criminal justice or closely related field AND four (4) years’ experience as an advocate/specialist with a specialized docket in a District Court setting. Comparable education and experience in the District Attorney’s discretion meets or exceeds the above criteria. Job Title: Summer Intern
The Office of the District Attorney for the 18th Judicial District is looking for a temporary, hourly Summer Intern to provide a variety of clerical duties in support of the various functions of the Office, including administration, clerical units, and central services. The internship will pay $10.00/hour. Responsibilities may include scanning, pulling dockets, data entry, copying, and other clerical duties. Must have knowledge of general office procedures and practices and possess the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize workload. Applicants must be able to work approximately 20 hours a week starting in June and working until the end of August. Performs semi-complex telephone and in-person contact work with at-risk crime victims and witnesses in potential criminal matters, in order to educate victims and witnesses about their rights during the criminal justice process. Supports prosecutors in the preparation, organization and prosecution of criminal cases through a variety of activities. Bachelor’s degree in victim assistance, human services, criminal justice or closely related field AND four (4) years’ experience as an advocate/specialist with a specialized docket in a District Court setting. Comparable education and experience in the District Attorney’s discretion meets or exceeds the above criteria. Job Title: Central Services Assistant
The Office of the District Attorney is looking for a detailed-orientated Central Services Assistant to perform a variety of clerical duties to support the functions of central services, discovery, mail distribution, as well as providing backup for the office receptionist. Must have knowledge of general office procedures and practices and possess the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize workload. Requires a minimum of one (1) year of general office experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
